And there, in a nutshell, is our MotoGP calendar! We’ll be hunkering by any available screenings when these dates swerve into view. Personally, we love the spectacle of the TT Assen track in the Netherlands just for sheer heritage – it’s great to see new riders screaming down the same trail as their forebears, dating all the way to 1955. But we’re also looking forward to the raucous feel of the Italian courses, and hold a soft spot for Silverstone as an emblem of British motorsport.

Our predictions for 2018

What about predictions? For our money, we wouldn’t bet against Marc Marquez; the 25-year-old may just claim his fifth premier class title, scoring a close success to his 13 wins back in 2014. Yet Maverick Viñales may be leaping out of the box to challenge him, if his test run at Losail is anything to go by. It’ll also be interesting to see how Scott Redding counters the hardship from last season, under the watchful eye of Aprilia…
